Easy Steps

Get started with 6 easy steps

Getting started is easy. Feel free to contact us at any time to speak to our education counsellors.

Step 1. Choose a course

Use SLP’s Integrated Course Search Finder to search for a course that interests you or ask one of our Education Counsellors to help you.

Step 2. Prepare for your application

One of our education counsellors can help you complete the application form, which is then reviewed by your chosen institution.

Different universities and colleges have different requirements for entry. They may require any combination of academic records, IELTS score and pre-requisites. Our Integrated Course Search Finder will contain these details. You can also ask our Education Counsellors.

Step 3. Acceptance letter

Once your chosen institution has confirmed you meet their requirements, they will issue with a conditional OR full offer letter.

A Conditional offer means you have only met part of the institution’s requirements and your application will be accepted once further requirements have been met. It can lead to your visa being revoked (if you already have one). SLP can assist you in negotiating with the institution on this matter.

A full offer, means you have been offered a place in the institution. You can accept this offer by signing and submitting the acceptance form and paying the tuition fees or deposit. This typically comprises the first semester’s tuition fee plus Overseas Student Health Cover.

Step 4. Visa

You must have a valid visa for the duration of your course when studying in Australia.

Once your tuition fees have been paid, you’ll be sent a Confirmation of Enrolment, usually via e-mail. This is needed to apply for your visa.

Australia visa application requirements and policies vary, depending on which country you are from. The SLP team will assist you in determining your requirements and submitting the appropriate application. A visa application can take a number of days.

Step 5. Pre-departure

You’ll need to organise accommodation in Australia. SLP can help you with this. We can also provide a pick up and short term accommodation service to help you get started.

Please be aware of Australia’s strict quarantine rules, which determine what you can and cannot bring to Australia here: www.customs.gov.au/site/page4351/asp

Step 6. Arrival!

Our service doesn’t stop here. Once in Australia, we can help you with accommodation arrangements, a mobile phone and/or SIM card and opening a bank account.

You should attend the orientation day of your institution to better understand your course and learning environment.

It is important to familiarise with the public transport in your area and how to call emergency services (dial “000” for police, ambulance and fire brigade) should that ever be needed.
