The first and most important thing is to choose your school.

After counselling with our staffs, you can submit your application form to school.

Then school send you the letter of offer and you pay your tuition fee and receive CoE.

You can apply for student visa with CoE.

So you should have OSHC even though you have a private insurance.

Can I enrol part-time class to apply for student visa?

Student visa requires more than 20 hours per week to study and most part-time class is less than that, so you can not choose it for student visa.

Can I have holiday during my course?

If you enrol ELICOS more than 24 weeks, you can have 2-4 weeks holiday during the class.

For example,

If you enrol 24 weeks,

12 weeks study + 2 weeks holiday + 12 weeks study.

If you enrol 48 weeks,

12 weeks study + 2 weeks holiday + 12 weeks study + 4 weeks holiday + 12 weeks study + 2 weeks holiday + 12 weeks study

But the dates of some courses like Cambridge course are fixed, so you cannot have holiday during the course. You also need to remember if you want to have too many weeks for holiday, immigration official sees it suspiciously. Please ask when you submit your application form.

Is it alright not to participate in school orientation?

No, you must attend orientation. You cannot start your course unless you go to orientation.

Do attendance rate affect my visa?

Yes, you should keep at least 80% of attendance rate. If not, school can cancel your CoE and it means your visa will be invalid soon.

-> If you are in Australia, it is alright to apply for student visa just before your current visa expires. But I recommend a few days before your visa expiration date.

-> If you are outside Australia, we cannot say exactly, but it is better to apply for student visa at least 1 month before. Normally it takes 1 month to receive grant letter from immigration but sometimes it takes a few months.

I am still waiting for my visa granted, but my school starts tomorrow. Is it alright to go to school?

-> If you are in Australia, you are holding bridging visa now so you can go to school. But if you want to change your start date, also you can change your start date, CoE and report to immigration.

-> If you are outside Australia, you cannot enter Australia without visa. So you should change your start date, CoE and report to immigration.
